Tutorials: Sequence Search

How to get information from PhaseolusGenes once the user has a FASTA sequence is easy. For this example, we'll take the sequence of the SCAR marker SAE15.950

Search the NCBI web site and obtain the fasta sequence
The sequence will be BLAST in PhaseolusGenes data base and the best hit will be chosen.
Once you click in the UCSC Genome Browser, all the information about the sequence will be displayed in a new window.
Since we know the type of marker what the sequence belong to we can check in Phaseolus markers those ones we are interested in. I.e. SCAR markers. Full
Once we select the option that can be useful in our search, a new window will pop up. The user can have information from the name of the marker, from the gene models, etc.
